Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026. This page explains the browser-only cleaning boundary and the ordinary data that can be involved when you visit a public website.
1. Browser-based file cleaning
The core Remove Metadata workflow reads selected files in your browser and creates a cleaned copy on your device. The cleaning code does not upload file contents, filenames, hashes or extracted metadata values to a processing server for the normal workflow.
The tool is not a promise of total network anonymity. Your browser still requests HTML, CSS, JavaScript, icons and other resources needed to display the site. Hosting, caching, security, analytics or advertising services may process ordinary request information according to the deployment configuration.
2. Information that may be processed
We do not need an account for the browser cleaning tool. Do not place sensitive personal information in a support message unless you have confirmed an approved support channel.
- Technical request data such as IP address, browser type, device category, timestamps and referring page.
- Security and error information needed to prevent abuse, diagnose outages and protect the site.
- Support messages and the contact details you choose to include when emailing us.
- Language, theme and basic interaction preferences stored by your browser or sent as ordinary page signals.
- Aggregated analytics events, if analytics is enabled, such as page views, approximate region and performance information. This site uses Microsoft Clarity to understand page interactions through behavioral metrics, heatmaps and session replay.
3. Cookies, web beacons and identifiers
The site may use necessary cookies, local storage, web beacons, pixels, IP addresses and similar identifiers for security, preferences, measurement or advertising purposes. The theme preference used by this site is stored locally in the browser and is not part of the file-cleaning payload.
If third-party analytics or advertising is enabled, those providers may place or read cookies, use web beacons, receive IP addresses and process other identifiers to serve, measure or personalize services. Microsoft Clarity may use cookies and other tracking technologies for session data and interaction analysis. You can manage cookies and related permissions through your browser and, where available, the site's consent controls.
4. Google advertising data use
If Google advertising products are used on this site, Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to serve or measure ads. The file-cleaning code is separate from advertising code, and the site should not send selected file contents to an advertising provider for the purpose of cleaning.

5. How information is used and shared
Information may be used to operate the site, remember preferences, measure performance, investigate errors, prevent abuse, answer support requests and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information as a business model.
Limited information may be processed by hosting, CDN, security, analytics, email, advertising or legal providers when necessary for those purposes. We aim to limit sharing to what the specific operation requires.
6. Retention and your choices
Temporary selected files and cleaned output objects live in the browser tab and are not intentionally retained by the normal cleaning workflow. Refreshing or closing the tab clears that in-memory queue, although your browser may have its own cache behavior.
Technical logs, analytics records and support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for security, operation, measurement, support and legal compliance. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection for certain personal information by emailing [email protected].
7. Children, external sites and updates
Remove Metadata is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. The site may link to external documentation or services with separate privacy practices. We may update this policy when the site, hosting, analytics, advertising or processing behavior changes; the effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
